Independent finance learning

Sources, methods and corrections

Published by Hollingworth Capital · Updated · Sources & methods

Our educational pages are designed to make their reasoning inspectable: a clear definition, an original worked example, visible assumptions and links to supporting references.

Sources and examples

The current guides reference investor-education materials from the US Securities and Exchange Commission and specialist finance education from Corporate Finance Institute. Their inclusion does not imply endorsement of HC. Examples are fictional, not investment recommendations or claims about a named company.

Production and checking

This set of guides was prepared with AI assistance. Its formula implementations and worked numerical examples were checked during publication. No independent professional review is claimed. The publication date records this release; it does not guarantee that external source pages have remained unchanged.

Calculator conventions

Each tool states its definition and limits alongside the result. Compound growth uses a nominal rate and month-end payments. Debt-to-equity uses interest-bearing debt rather than all liabilities. The present-value tool discounts one future payment, rather than performing a complete business valuation.

Market news and data

The homepage news column and market widgets are supplied by TradingView. Their content, publication times and availability are controlled by that provider. Links to Reuters and BBC Business lead to those publishers; they are not represented as HC reporting. Market data may be delayed.

Corrections

If a figure looks wrong, compare the displayed formula with the linked source and rerun the example. Do not rely on a disputed result for a financial decision. Material corrections to these pages should be reflected in the visible update date. HC does not currently publish a dedicated corrections contact on this site.

Scope

HC provides general education, not personalised investment advice. References to US reporting concepts are labelled where relevant. A calculator does not replace the applicable accounting rules, a company’s complete financial statements or advice suited to your circumstances.
